Great Intro to Big Boat Sailing
CD L, 01-01-2023
My daughter got me this trip as a 60th birthday present. It was my highlight of a 2 week visit to California.
I sail small boats but this even at 20 yrs old this yacht was just incredible by comparison. A number of us took turns at the helm and I got to take her through a tack. Even with a cut-down jib the acceleration is amazing. I spent most of the trip at the mast, helping to tail the jib through the tacks and chatting with the crew about the features of the boat and how all the gear works. Pete and the crew did a great job of involving most of the guests in the sailing manoeuvres.
Definitely the best way to see the sights of the bay including the course area for the previous AC and current Sail GP series races.
Nice 3 hour sail!

Yacht was built for racing

Very cool, experienced, knowledgeable skipper and crew. Impressive how they work around the passengers. Nice that passengers are allowed to be involved in grinding or steering

Caveat for us three is expectations on being on a raving yacht that minus going under the Golden Gate Bridge, we didn’t experience the full power and speed of the yacht in open water. First, the skipper and crew were awesome. Wind was not heavy and the guys accommodated requests best the could

Cruising around the bay or around d Alcatraz is easy on your boats. What sets this yacht apart us it’s built for speed and racing and I heard other passengers wanting to open her up, as it were, and use whatever wind was available outside the bay
