Excellent guide let down by weak itinerary

Driver/guide was very experienced. However, only 1 of the 3 wineries were really worth visiting and too much time was spent at the last one. Appreciated the time given for lunch though as it enabled us to catch the world cup semi-final at a pub in Sonoma!

The tour guide was excellent and some of the scenic views. Only visited two wineries. For the most part, it was enjoyable!

We did not visit a Sonoma winery in our trip unfortunately, which was the reason I booked this trip!

Some elements of the trip were great but I was disappointed that we did not visit a Sonoma winery, as stated in the booking, they were all in Napa. I specify booked this trip (despite it being more expensive than others) as I wanted to go to vineyards in both places. We went to Sonoma Plaza for lunch, but the lunch choices in the lunch package were very limited and not what I would consider really good value for money. On a positive note, the driver (Steve) was great, and the first and last wineries we visited were lovely. The second one (Sutter Home) was really like mass produced cheap wine with an over inflated price for tourists. It seemed very commercial there and the wines were definitely not the quality I was expecting. Madonna and Ru Vango were lovely though. The setting of Ru Vango was beautiful, and the host was informative, funny and friendly. I would definitely recommend visiting these two vineyards but I would not go back to Sutter Home, or recommend it to friends.
