My instructor, James was fantastic! Not only taught me how to stand up on the board, but how to read the ocean, surfing etiquette and how to handle the board in rough water. I would take another lesson with Hokali in heartbeat and I hope to soon.

My teenage daughter has always wanted to learn how to surf. On our recent trip to San Francisco, we stayed at a local hotel right on the beach and within walking distance of Pacifica, Lindamar Beach. We booked online 2 private lessons for the weekend. The instructors were so great!! My daughter had a blast. They were in the water catching waves pretty quickly. I definitely feel like we got our money worth. The water is quite cold. A wet suit was provided with the lesson, which was great. I highly recommend HOKALI Surf Lessons if you're wanting to try surfing!

I've been taking lessons with Hokali since last year. I always have so much fun! The coaches are super friendly and patient. They've taught me different techniques and made me feel safe throughout the entire lesson. I keep coming back for more and more tips! So far I've taken several lessons in Pacifica and Venice Beach in LA.
Not to mention the quality of their website, it’s great to get to know your coach prior your lesson and I enjoy the videos they have.
